NDCS is the leading charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people.
Its aim is to remove the barriers to the achievement of deaf children and young people by:
Empowering deaf children, young people and their families to determine what happens in their lives and the shape the services they receive.
Increasing awareness of the support deaf children and young people need to achieve and challenging social attitudes which prevent them achieving.
Influencing and challenging key decision makers to make deaf children and young people a political priority.
My role: Digital Content Manager
Key deliverables
Design Digital Content Strategy to guide substance, structure, workflow, and governance of content management.
Deliver content audit and migration plans for NDCS’ website rebuild, merging 4 sites comprising 2,500+ pages, 2 blogs, fundraising platform, online store, CRM database, and online community.
Establish and implement agile methodology for managing digital content throughout the organisation, working closely with Communications,Fundraising, Information, IT, Policy & Campaigns, and "3 Nations" teams in Birmingham, Glasgow, Belfast and Cardiff.
Ensure content targeted to organisational goals, user wants and needs, and brand, and tone of voice.
Work with digital agency, internal stakeholders, and end-users to define and develop information architecture, via user research and card sorting (online and offline).
Use analysis and audience insights to inform content marketing, optimisation and delivery across the organisation.
Manage complex matrix of content owners, producers, subject matter experts and content designers – working with them to produce compelling and user-focused content to inform, empower and engage target audience.
Line management responsibility for Senior Digital Content Officer.
Teach "Master Classes" in Writing for Web, On-Page Optimisation, User Journeys, and Content Marketing.
Build content toolkits, templates and digital wiki to guide and support content producers.
